True love has been diluted and commercialized
I look around and we all been hypnotised
Listened to the media and been fobbed off
We don’t even know we’ve all been ripped off
It’s sad to see how we now define love
When we find it we seem to push and shove
Not wanting to wait and know one another
Our relationships we all seem to smother
Our body’s burning with this fleshy desire
Pulling each other through deadly barbwire
Not worrying who’s caught in the crossfire
Not worrying to stop and change a flat tyre
Shouting and screaming, Get out of our way!
We will mow you down and lead you astray
This desire we are now going to feed
All the innocents we will mislead
Till one day we get stopped dead in our tracks
The WORD has forced us to face the ultimate facts
Eyes widening as we see our life’s deep cracks
As we realise we paying deaths heavy tax
A step back we take and start to pray
Please Lord help us and take the pain away
Please heal the shattered pieces of our hearts
Please give us the wisdom and the smarts
To help us bring more close to You
Our love for You God had lead us to a breakthrough
Now through us other lives You can renew
After lost souls You helps us pursue
By the blood of Jesus are we set free
You won’t find this on an audio CD
Where ever you are just start to pray
Invite God into your life and HE will show you a new day.

I pray my reply finds you well on this glorious day.
I would like to thank you for your open and honest comments relating to my poem. I welcome people being open and honest with me when they read my poems. It helps me as a poet to grow. If I may being the poet I would like to explain.
You are very right my friend, TRUE LOVE does conquer all and it is one of the many amazing things God has created for His people. But the sad fact is that the media and people much like I have been lead a stray and have lead others astray. We have been told what some would say is a beautiful lie by society. The poem in question is not about the awesomeness of true love, it is however about how the world has suffocated love with lies and deceit and how we may experience the pureness of love again by welcoming and accepting God into our hearts.
Before I came to accept Jesus I was the one in the poem causing pain and suffering and claiming that I loved when I really did not. I had selfish motives and intentions using people. I was a liar and a deceiver with nothing but cruel intentions dwelling within me. Please understand I am by no means a perfect person now. What I am is a child of God who seeks God and His guidance through the Bible, prayer and worship. This poem was written from the heart of a broken man (myself) who knew he was in-need of a Saviour and knew there was more to life and living it.
Through God I have learned that True Love is being able to forgive without measure. True love is also being able to love those that hurt you or may have hurt you. It is also being able to love anyone and everyone no matter how different we are. Well in short, true love is the ability to love like my Lord God.

Please accept my humblest apologies for not replying sooner. Seems life caught up with me and I have been extremely busy at work and writing my book.
This is no excuse and I do apologise again. I just read your work “Deliverance from Deception”. Wow, it is an amazing work. I do applauded you for it.
I believe that everything happens for a reason and God uses each and every situation to teach us things.
I’m glad I did not read you poem sooner for it would have not meant as much to me as it does today.
I’m currently in the situation of your poem and I thank you for posting it.
I read it with an open mind and in all honesty it opened my eyes further to my situation.
With regards to your comments about me, I forgive you for them.
